That Thought Over There

Believe It's on the way

Writing is creation. We download thoughts and then transcribe them into existence. Then it is up to us to walk with them. To breathe the thoughts and live our dreams. We love to get in the way of the process of creation though. We love to talk ourselves out of potential growth opportunities and things that we can’t see the end to. We are cunning when it comes to seeking comfort. There is nothing wrong with this. It is part of our wiring to know where our shelter will be or where our next meal will be served. We must give ourselves grace for being a dizzy creature, for being a human.

When I find myself wanting to project my consciousness into the future… When I fumble around for a premature finish line... I have now begun forming the habit of catching myself and stopping with the meditation that, “ Believe and know that it is on the way.”

If I am doing all the work that needs doing. If I am showing up and getting on with the rising actions, there is no reason for me to lay more plot down. The ends will delight and surprise me. We must remember that the best part of life is not knowing what exciting incident will happen next.

At this point in my life, I am fully committed to the journey of being a full-time writer and filmmaker. I know that it will happen, I feel it, I am doing what is required. I just have to keep whispering patience into my anxious bones. Then also remember that the anxiousness is at times confused with utter excitement, because the best things in life are served up in the form of surprises. It makes you excited to meet the version of you in the future who has gained the wisdom needed to transcend your current circumstances and can take you onwards into the next battle.

“No one can save you but your future-wiser self.” - Alex Hormozi

I like to add to this point/quote…

If we can close the gap of time between the present us- and begin instead operating from the mindset of our future self -then we can cause a more beneficial operational effect on the circumstances we wish to change in the present moment.

"If you actually decided to follow your own advice you would get where you want to be so much faster." - Alex Hormozi

This one is huge for me.

This once again involves you asking your future wiser self for the answers you are seeking and benefiting from their counsel (even if it still is technically current/scared, naive you).

When you are feeling low, yes talk to someone, don't isolate, write! But also implement the habit of asking yourself for your own advice.

What future version of yourself are you looking forward to meeting? What characteristics will they have that the current you would love to look up to? I want to know your thoughts! Thank you for reading this and sharing your time and attention with me. I treasure it more than you could ever know.
